About Heart Sessions

Hello all. This blog is intended to honor the group meditations initiated by Tom Sawyer, now carried on by friends of his since his passing. Being physically spread out as we are we have agreed to sit down in our own homes at the same clock time, 9pm EST on Sunday nights. We sit for at least 20 minutes, although sitting for longer periods is no problem if you so choose.


There is no specified technique for these meditations. Precisely prescribed actions sometimes become unauthentic and what is meaningful for one person may not be for another. So if you choose to assist you may use a favored technique or listen within, apply self-honesty, and allow growth. There is no political or economic agenda involved. There are no dues or dogma. The essential point is an honest willingness to help.


Each week there is a suggested focus as posted on this blog. We previously had been using an email list but now, through the kind assistance and generous guidance of Barbara Whitfield and Donald Brennan, we have the pleasure of this blog forum. For Sunday October 26th, 2025

I'll be out of town and away from my computer for a week. I'll be in Virginia Beach at an NDE R&R Retreat. It's a beautiful time with wonderful people. So, I'm sending Sunday's and next Tuesday's meditations a bit early. Enjoy...

Hello everyone, as we work our way through karma, on our way toward grace, we find our egos transforming. At the very best our psychological egos become implements of divine will.

Until then, there are many lessons to be learned from our missteps along the way.

Tonight may we sit for the willingness to try, the honesty to recognize, the humility to learn, and the courage to realign ourselves as needed to bring Divine will to Earth.

For Sunday October 12th, 2025

Hello beautiful people. Edgar Cayce tell us that all strength and healing, whether from drugs, surgery or prayer, comes from attuning living tissue to the creative energies of the Divine.

Leaving drugs and surgery to the doctors, we come upon the two meanings of 'having a lot of faith'. One is a mental construct, intensely believing and defending something without ever having seen or experienced it. The other is the degree of love one can bring to an event or situation – how securely can you attune to the Divine?

Let us sit this evening securing our connection. May we set aside biases and judgements, all mental processes, in favor of pure connection. May we bring this to the world through our lives. May we be clear lenses for the Divine to shine through.

For Sunday October 5th, 2025

Hello to one and all on this lovely day. When we work together with no purpose and no goal, when only the joy of working together remains, all status and prestige disappears. Contentment, satisfaction, and compassion rises in their place.

As we are called to be of assistance to our fellow humans it helps to see them as human souls having a particular experience in life, as we are. With that perhaps we can companion them equanimously, with calmness and emotional balance.

May we sit this evening knowing we're all together, flowing along our personal paths on a river of loving creation. All is well when we are well within ourselves.
