We're glad you're here.

Hello all. This blog is intended to honor the group meditations initiated by Tom Sawyer, now carried on by friends of his since his passing. Being physically spread out as we are we have agreed to sit down in our own homes at the same clock time, 9pm EST on Sunday nights. We sit for at least 20 minutes, although sitting for longer periods is no problem if you so choose.
There is no specified technique for these meditations. Precisely prescribed actions sometimes become unauthentic and what is meaningful for one person may not be for another. So if you choose to assist you may use a favored technique or listen within, apply self-honesty, and allow growth. There is no political or economic agenda involved. There are no dues or dogma. The essential point is an honest willingness to help.
My name is Richard Hughson. I was a friend of Tom Sawyer's for the last 17 years of his life. As with many others, I traveled with him, listened to the lessons he had to share from his near-death experience, and tried to absorb what I could. Living only two miles away I was able to be of help to him as his health decreased. It was a remarkable gift to me that I was able to be available.
After his passing some of us wished to continue the focused group meditations he had initiated. Some phone calls and emails occurred and it came to me to be the writer. So far it's working. Please feel free to reply in any way to anything I write here.
You may reply publicly by clicking on the "Leave Comments Here" button below each post or write to me privately at heartsession@gmail.com with anything you wish to say.
Thank you for your interest and may each day be a heart session for you.

I just want everyone to know that I'm extremely happy to be part of something that Tom Sawyer started. It helps me to feel like there is some kind of heart hug that we are involved in with Tom. His body might have needed to go but his heart, all the love he spread continues to echo off of all of us from him and back again.
ReplyDeleteI met Tom at Dr. Bruce Greyson's house many years ago. Bruce is the director of research for the International Association of Near-Death Studies.
Tom and I sat up all night and talked about our NDEs. This was way back in the early 80s and I hadn't had the opportunity to talk to another NDEr until Tom. We laughed and we cried. We talked quantum physics and realized that both of us had been very deeply effected in the same ways by our Life Reviews.
We then spent that whole weekend together with the Greyson's. I'll never forget it. It changed me because Tom and I could affirm each other. We did a few more times in the following years.
I'd love to read others reflections or memories of Tom. I hope we can all share about him.
And I love our meditation times together.
Thank you for this opportunity,
Love,
Barbara Harris Whitfield
Thank you all for putting this together!
